Dear Sister

It’s Friday and my mother and sister need to keep the Sabbath. As my sister is on her way out to corruption, she could care less when the sun sets. Yes, I’ll share more about my ‘Asian Jewish’ family another time. So since my sister was out for the day and apparently told my mother that she was only working half a day and would be back before sundown, my mother has been keeping her in check the whole afternoon.
Now I was unaware of what texts or calls were exchanged between the two throughout the day but my mother did stop by my place around noon to have lunch. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that my baby sister lives with me for the time being. I was pretty involved with work that I don’t even remember what time my mom left.
Around 4pm, my sister is constantly texting me on mom’s whereabouts. I just replied that she wasn’t where I was, at my apartment. Baby sis kept texting me asking me what time mom left, where did she say she was going, is she coming back, etc. At this point, I’m pretty annoyed and need her to just shut up since it’s becoming a huge distraction to my work. So I tell her to just get her ass home.
She walks in my apartment around 5:45pm.
Sis: Why didn’t you answer me right away?
Me: All you had to do is get your ass home.
Sis: Mom kept texting and calling me asking me what time I got home?
Me: But you weren’t home.
Sis: Yeah, that’s why I was texting you to hurry and give me an answer to when she left the apartment so I could tell her I got home a certain time after she left.
Me: Just tell her the truth. I can’t cover your sins!
Yes, the proper way to say it was to ‘cover for your sins’ but the conversation was going so fast and I was getting off the toilet so yeah, I can’t #cover your sins baby sis.
